Weight-loss medications

MESSA covers certain weight-loss medications, depending on the details of your plan. To see which drugs are covered, check the drug list for your plan and search for “weight loss.”

Important information about GLP-1 drugs

MESSA covers the GLP-1 drugs Ozempic, Mounjaro, Rybelsus and Trulicity only for the treatment of diabetes, as approved by the FDA.

MESSA does not cover the GLP-1 drugs Saxenda, Wegovy or Zepbound for weight loss or other diagnoses such as sleep apnea.
