Find the right fit for your mental health

Over the past few years, more people have come to understand the need to support the mind as well as the body. But we still have a long way to go to ensure that everyone who needs help can get it.

The most recent report from the nonprofit Mental Health America found that 21% of American adults are experiencing a mental illness. That’s more than 50 million people, and about 28% of them reported they weren’t able to receive treatment.

With your MESSA plan, help is available. Every MESSA health plan provides excellent mental health benefits to ensure you get the support you need.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to taking care of your mental health. Some people prefer traditional in-person talk therapy, while others prefer a virtual or self-led approach.

That’s why MESSA provides a variety of options:

MyStressTools: For those who want a self-guided approach, this free suite of wellness resources helps manage stress and anxiety. It uses a “Stress Profiler” to identify your sources of stress and anxiety, and provides you with tailored information, strategies and resources. You can access MyStressTools through your MyMESSA member account. Learn more: messa.org/MyStressTools.

Teladoc Mental Health: Connect virtually with a therapist or psychiatrist. There are many evening and weekend appointments available, making it more accessible to get help. Your plan’s copay or coinsurance applies. Learn more: messa.org/Teladoc.
