How to file a supplemental plan claim

MESSA’s supplemental plans provide a financial safety net by paying cash benefits if you or a covered dependent is injured, receives a serious diagnosis or has a hospital stay.

MESSA offers these plans in partnership with Aetna. When you have a claim, it’s easy to file it electronically through Aetna’s member portal. Here’s how you file a claim:

1. Sign into your MyMESSA account.
2. Under the Claims menu, choose “Submit a supplemental claim” and you’ll be automatically signed into your Aetna member portal.
3. Once you’re logged in, click on “Report a new claim” and follow the onscreen prompts.

You can opt for automatic deposit to get your payment more quickly.
