You have questions; Ovia has answers

If you’re thinking of starting a family, expecting a new addition, or trying to wade through the trials and tribulations of parenting, the odds are good that you have questions — lots of questions. After all, kids don’t come with instruction manuals.

Fortunately, MESSA members have free access to Ovia Health’s trio of apps for fertility, pregnancy and parenting. Through the apps, you can connect with an Ovia health coach when you have questions big or small.

Ovia’s in-house coaching team features registered nurses, certified nurse midwives, social workers, lactation coaches and even baby sleep coaches. Coaches are available seven days a week via phone and app-based messaging, and are often available when a health care provider is not.

One MESSA member shared an experience she had during her first trimester when she was experiencing light bleeding. She reached out to her health care provider, and while waiting for a return call, she anxiously reached out to an Ovia coach with her concerns. The coach explained that light bleeding is common, allaying the expectant mother’s concerns.

That kind of in-the-moment support is just one benefit to having the Ovia app at your fingertips.

Each app also features a robust library of content. Some examples include:

  • Are over-the-counter medications OK for my baby?
  • When can my child get a flu shot?
  • Is there a difference between food allergies and respiratory allergies?
  • Will my child outgrow their allergies?
  • How can I support my partner in nursing or when she’s recovering from childbirth?

You can find information on those topics and so much more in your Ovia app. You have questions; Ovia has answers.
