Work some wellness into your workday

MESSA Wellness has all the tools you need

When life gets busy, it’s too easy to lose sight of your own health and wellness. Long days at work and hectic evenings can leave little time to prioritize yourself and your goals.

That’s where a worksite wellness program can keep you on track. By building a culture of wellness at work, you can weave fun activities (plank challenge in the break room!) and informational sessions (lunch ‘n’ learn on nutrition hacks!) into the workday, leaving your so-called free time a little freer.

MESSA Wellness makes starting a worksite wellness program as easy as 1-2-3-4.

MESSA provides a Worksite Wellness Toolkit that contains everything you need to get started, keep it going, and see results.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Choose a wellness leader. This person will take the lead on organizing a wellness committee. They’ll also be the one to delegate tasks to the other members of the wellness committee. (Spoiler alert: You’ll need a wellness committee.)
  2. Organize a wellness committee. These are the worksite wellness cheer- leaders who will help set up activities and keep colleagues engaged. Be sure to include co-workers who have diverse skills and backgrounds in things like fitness, nutrition and wellness.
  3. Do a survey. This is a great way to pique your colleagues’ interest in the worksite wellness program and find out their health concerns and interests. Bonus: MESSA has a health interest survey you can use!
  4. Become a MESSA Wellness Pro. Join MESSA Health Promotion Consultant Rhonda Jones on the third Wednesday of each month to learn best practices for worksite wellness. Register at messa.org/Wellness
