Register to get your COVID-19 vaccine at your local Meijer pharmacy

MESSA is teaming up with Meijer to help more preK-12 teachers and support staff get the COVID-19 vaccine at their local Meijer pharmacy.

Local Meijer pharmacies will streamline the process for preK-12 school staff to help them get a COVID-19 vaccine quickly as supplies become available. Getting registered is quick and simple.

How to register

Text SCHOOL to 75049 or register online for a free Meijer account. Follow the instructions, and you’ll be registered in just a couple of minutes.

Even if you already have a Meijer account, you should still register by texting SCHOOL to 75049. This will ensure you are identified as a preK-12 school employee as vaccines continue to become available.

Once you have registered with your local Meijer pharmacy, you will receive a text notification from Meijer when the vaccine is available. Just follow the instructions to set up an appointment at a time and pharmacy that is convenient for you.

You’ll be asked to bring ID and your insurance card. You do not have to be a MESSA member to register with Meijer.

MESSA COVID-19 coverage

MESSA fully covers the cost of FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccines for our members and their covered dependents. Members will not be responsible for paying deductible, copayment or coinsurance.

MESSA also is fully covering all medically necessary testing and treatment for COVID-19 at no cost to our members and covered dependents through Dec. 31, 2021. The test order and treatment must be prescribed by a health care provider and administered by an in-network provider.

Frequently asked questions

Which vaccine will I receive?

You will be informed about which vaccine is available when you are notified for an appointment. There are three FDA-authorized vaccines available. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines require two shots; the Johnson & Johnson vaccine requires one shot.

Will I be removed from the preK-12 school staff list if I decline an appointment time or the type of vaccine that is available?

No. You can decline the available appointment and vaccine without being removed from the list.

Do I have to be a MESSA member to register with Meijer?

No. All preK-12 school staff can register with Meijer whether they have a MESSA plan or not.

I’m having trouble registering with Meijer. Who do I contact for help?
